  central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). In doing so\, I will explore why
  it so important to be building freedom tech now as CBDCs continue to be l
 aunched. Building defenses for our freedoms is much harder after assualts 
 have already begun. \n\nI've been documenting CBDC development at the Cato
  Institute and Human Rights Foundation for years. In addition to writing a
  book on the subject\, I also run the HRF CBDC Tracker where I detail deve
 lopments in over 149 jurisdictions.
